The playoff structure will be as follows:
Top 16 teams will compete for the Nat'l Championship.
The Tourny will be divided into 4 regions (North, South, Midwest, and West). Each set of regional games will be held at a particular bowl site: East (Orange Bowl), South (Peach Bowl/Georgia Dome), Midwest (Fiesta Bowl), West (Rose Bowl). The final four and the championship game will take place in the Sugar Bowl (Superdome).
The 5 Conference Champs get Automatic Bids and #1 seeds in each of the 4 regions (Because there are 4 regions and 5 conferences the Filthy North Conference Champion will be seeded in the West Region as the #2 seed. This will hopefully insure that the classic Big 10 (Filthy North) Champ vs Pac 10 (West Side) Champ can still take place in the Rose Bowl).
After the 5 champions are seeded the remaining 11 teams will be assigned geographically to a particular region. If a region has too many teams in its nearby proximity then the team will be relocated to the next nearest region that needs a team. The seeding will be as follows:
East Region (Orange Bowl, Miami, FL):
#1 Seed: Beast East Conference Champion vs #4 Seed: East Region #4 #2 Seed: East Region #2 vs #3 Seed: East Region #3
South Region (Peach Bowl (Georgia Dome), Atlanta, GA):
#1 Seed: Dirty South Conference Champion vs #4 Seed: South Region #4 #2 Seed: South Region #2 vs #3 Seed: South Region #3
Midwest Region (Fiesta Bowl, Tempe, AZ):
#1 Seed: Dirty Dozen Conference Champion vs #4 Seed: Midwest Region #4 #2 Seed: Midwest Region #2 vs #3 Seed: Midwest Region #3
West Region (Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA):
#1 Seed: West Side Conference Champion vs #4 Seed: West Region #4 #2 Seed: Filthy North Conference Champion vs #3 Seed: West Region #3
Final 4: (Sugar Bowl, New Orleans, LA)
East Region Champion vs South Region Champion and West Region Champion vs Midwest Region Champion
All teams that don't make the playoffs will be assigned to various bowl games based on the most competitive game available for each bowl, meaning, say a team that is 0-12 record would face another team that is also 0-12. So that the game has meaning and is actually fair and competitive
