OCFL Official League Rules (2/10/2004)
I. GENERAL RULES AND GAME SCHEDULING
1. All OCFL league games will be opened up in 2 week increments (Weeks 1 & 2, Weeks 3 & 4, etc.). The gaming period for completing those 2 games is 2 weeks. Meaning you have 2 weeks to complete the 2 games (they don't have to be played in order, meaning if you can schedule Week 2 before Week 1 you can go ahead and play Week 2 first if need be). If the games aren't completed in a 2 week period, league officers will make a decision on forfeiture or simulation. If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from getting your 2 games completed in the 2 week period and you need an extension, please contact your conference commissioner and he will bring your request to the attention of league officers. Remember, you are making a commitment when you join the OCFL. If you can't be an active coach in the league, then the OCFL is not for you.
2. Stat tracking and game recaps are REQUIRED! All game results, summaries and stat reports are to be submitted via League Daddy within 48 hours of the completed game. You all joined a league for the purpose of str8 fair play and to have fun competing in a league atmosphere. Therefore, we will be very strict on this rule this season and those found to be in violation will be disciplined accordingly.
3. Game scheduling will be done via AIM, E-mail and the OCFL Message Boards (Game Threads) as each coaches contact information will be readily listed and available on league daddy, the message boards and the web site. The protocol for this will be that no matter which method of scheduling you've used (AIM, Email or Msg Brds) it will be required that you also create a game thread so that league officers are aware the game was scheduled accordingly. Each week, I'll create a thread (example: Game Thread: Weeks 1 & 2) and under that thread, the home team will be responsible for logging the scheduled time and date of the game. The visiting team will then confirm the date and time. This may seem over the top but it helps the league officers incase of scheduling conflicts or no-shows, so that we don't penalize the non-offending party. If you chose NOT to submit a game thread and the game isn't played, then you run risk of losing the game via simulation as we'll just sim the game and what happens...HAPPENS!
4. All coaches will be required to post an OCFL/EA ID. (For example: OCFLCanes). This way each coach is readily identifiable, and we can also have each coach maximize the 40 person limit of the EA Messenger. Meaning your EA Messenger for your OCFL EA ID should have the OCFL EA IDs of all the other OCFL coaches. This will benefit us all in scheduling and playing games.
***I'm not going to be a bit more laxed on this as a requirement because there are only so many names for a team that can be chosen, many of which were taken by previous owners last season. SO you don't have to create and OCFL ID, but your EAID must be readily posted and on record.***
5. All coaches are REQUIRED to have some sort of Instant Messenging program (ex. AIM, Trillian) and have that listed BOTH on the site and on Leaguedaddy (do not hide this information). This really helps in scheduling and is very convenient.
6. All game disputes and disciplinary action will be handled by a majority vote of league officers. Please follow chain of command for reporting a dispute or filing a complaint, meaning all initial coversation concerning a dispute or complaint must be submitted to your Conference Commissioner. If the game is a non-conference game, then please submit to both conference commissioners. The Conference Commissioners will then bring the dispute before the OCFL Officers and we will do our best to render a fair and just decision. Realize we are not perfect and will do the best we can. Please do not become overly discouraged if we do not side with you. We will be objective as possible, just realize that whatever we decide it's always in the best interest of the entire OCFL and never personal.
